NTP would stretch operators? balance sheets further: Abhishek Chauhan, Frost & Sullivan

The Union Cabinet approving the NTP is definitely a welcome move for mobile consumers and would boost adoption across the country.

However, this would stretch the balance sheets of the operators further. The government needs to ensure that spectrum is adequately priced, so that the overall services pricing is not increased.

If this is not done, the NTP would only benefit 10 percent of the travelling population and the remaining 90 percent would have to pay high amounts for the services due to expensive spectrum.
