The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has withdrawn charges against Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Loop Mobile for violating its regulations pertaining to mobile number portability.
The regulator has informed a Delhi Court that it has closed the case as these players have taken remedial measures regarding the issue.
The complaint against the three mobile service providers pertained to alleged violations of TRAI?s norms of terminating the service of a customer within 24 hours of receipt of request and refund of the security deposit within 60 days of termination.
TRAI had issued summons to these three players on March 21, 2012.
Thereafter, the three telecom players wrote to TRAI stating that they have taken adequate measures to ensure that such violations would not take place in the future.
