The Supreme Court has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for an explanation as to why the Essar group and Loop were not indicted under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with regard to the 2G case.

Meanwhile, the court has also issued notices to the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate on allegations that the Ministry of Law and Justice was influencing the case in favour of the telecom companies.
