The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), Vinod Rai, reportedly plans to explain to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) how the CAG estimated a loss of Rs 1.76 trillion in the 2G spectrum case.
Prior to this, Rai, along with other CAG officials, had appeared before the JPC on May 30, 2011, to brief the panel on its report on 2G spectrum allocation.
Also, R.P. Singh, former director general of audit (post and telecommunications), led the audit of the 2G spectrum case and had reportedly disputed the Rs 1.76 trillion figure. Singh had reportedly said the losses amounted to Rs 26.45 billion.
