The Supreme Court has rejected COAI’s plea to grant a stay on a Delhi High Court decision, which permitted the CAG to conduct an audit on the balance sheets of the major telecom operators.
The decision was taken to ascertain that there were no revenue leakages on the part of these firms in terms of licence fee payment to the government. COAI had appealed to the Supreme Court that the CAG did not have the jurisdiction to conduct such an audit.
