
Motorola has successfully completed Phase I of the time division-long term evolution (TD-LTE) field trials with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The TD-LTE trials included key functionality, performance and mobility tests in a multi-sector, multi-site environment. Motorola achieved downlink speeds of up to 80 Mbps, besides successfully demonstrating key TD-LTE features including mobility and handover with live applications, low latency, etc. The company is ready to begin Phase II of the trials, which will focus on applications and quality of service.
