Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) is targeting revenues of Rs 52.5 billion in 2010-11, primarily from its broadband and cellular services. The company plans to add 1 million broadband subscribers by end-2010 to take its total broadband subscriber base to 2 million. MTNL, which has been suffering losses over the past few quarters, is likely to get a tax refund of Rs 13.8 billion after the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal upheld its position in the tax dispute for fiscal years 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2000-01 and 2005-06.
