Alcatel-Lucent has been awarded a turnkey contract by Nigeria’s Emerging Market Telecom Services (EMTS), a subsidiary of Etisalat Telecommunications and Mubadala Development Company, for the deployment of EMTS’s new mobile network.
According to the terms of the contract, Alcatel-Lucent will provide network deployment and integration services, as well as related infrastructure such as towers and power systems. The new network will enable EMTS to offer mobile voice and broadband data services with enhanced coverage and capacity in the western region of Nigeria.
