ZTE has won two contracts from China Telecom for CDMA equipment and networks. The deals, representing over 15 per cent ofthe total value of China Telecom’s first round of CDMA network equipment and terminals’ tender, consist of a wireless equipment contract worth RMB 1.27 billion and an operation network contract worth RMB 61 million. ZTE is negotiating with China Telecom for a core network and an ancillary equipment contract as well. China Telecom plans to invest a total of RMB 80 billion over the next three years to upgrade its CDMA mobile network which it acquired from China Unicom.
