BSNL has launched its managed services pilot project in Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad. Targeted at the enterprise segment, including small and medium enterprise (SME) customers, the service includes managed leased line modems and routers as well as managed security services. The company has tied up with Cisco for the router management services and with Trimax for providing pre-sales and after-sales customer services, including proactive monitoring of the customer’s network. The services are being offered on an opex basis at a fixed monthly charge of Rs 7,999. According to BSNL, as there is no capex involved, there can be a significant uptake of these services.
