Japanese mobile phone operator NTT DoCoMo has raised its stake in the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) from 17.8 per cent to 18.67 per cent. NTT DoCoMo is the second largest shareholder in the company with PLDT’s single largest shareholder being the Hong Kong-based First Pacific Company, which has a 29 per cent stake. Meanwhile, PLDT is planning to list its outsourcing unit, SPi Global Solutions, in the second half of 2008.
