TRAI has released draft regulations for the implementation and management of mobile number portability (MNP). Under the guidelines, new mobile users will have to stay on an operator’s network for a minimum of three months before they can switch to another operator. The regulator has also clarified that the new operator is not bound to repay any deposit made by the customers to their original service provider.
