China Mobile Communications Corporation is expected to launch a tender for TD-SCDMA mobile handsets by the end of November 2007. According to sources, Chinese mobile phone manufacturers including ZTE, Huawei and Lenovo Mobile will participate in the tender. Earlier this year, China Mobile launched a tender worth 20 billion yuan for its TD-SCDMA networks covering eight major cities. The company is expected to start building the networks by April 2008.
