According to news reports, MTNL will soon invite tenders for A adding 800,000 GSM cellular lines in 2005-06. The decision comes in the wake of the company managing to get 50 per cent of the net additions in cellular subscribers in Delhi and 39 per cent in Mumbai during January 2005. The company added 44,659 new customers in January alone. The contract is expected to be worth Rs 18-Rs 20 billion.
