DoT has formed a multi-disciplinary committee to frame new criteria for spectrum allocation. This is in line with the recommendations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on licence conditions. The committee includes members from the Telecom Engineering Centre, the Telecom Commission, the Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing of DoT, as well as the Indian Institute of Technology. DoT is also likely to invite members from the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and the Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI) to participate in committee meetings.
