According to the contract, Huawei will be involved in Vodafone’s expansion of the high speed packet access (HSPA) network in seven major cities in Spain. Huawei has also reportedly signed a $700 million GSM expansion contract with China Mobile, according to which China Mobile has selected Huawei’s EnerG GSM solution (which includes a new-generation base station controller) to expand coverage in 30 provinces in China. The contract represents 23.6 per cent of China Mobile’s GSM group purchase project.
