Deutsche Telekom (DT) has reportedly sold Ya.com, a Spanish broadband internet access provider, to France Telecom (FT) for $432 million. Ya.com will add over 400,000 clients to FT’s existing internet business in Spain. The purchase will increase FT’s broadband market share from 12 per cent to 18 per cent. As part of the deal, DT will reportedly acquire FT’s wireless telephone and internet firm, Orange Netherlands, for around $1.7 billion.
