Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) is reported to have one of the poorest prepaid subscriber verification records, though the company disagrees with this. Hutchison Essar Limited (HEL) and Reliance Communications have the highest percentage of verified subscribers. DoT is considering penalising operators (Rs 1,000 per unverified subscriber) who have not complied with the verification norms.
