ZTE may be interested in setting up a GSM handset manufacturing facility in India. The facility will primarily cater to Vodafone’s low-cost handset requirements for its Indian, Russian and Brazilian markets. Senior ZTE personnel have met with Vodafone group CEO Arun Sarin and Union Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran to discuss the same.
According to sources, the possible locations for the facility are Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
