Reliance Communications has reportedly awarded a contract for around 4.5 million CDMA lines to Chinese equipment manufacturer Huawei. So far, Lucent (now called Alcatel-Lucent) has been Reliance Communications’ main CDMA equipment supplier.
The value of the deal has, however, not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, the company has estimated that it may take up to two years to expand its GSM base significantly across the country. L
