Malaysia-based Maxis Communications, in collaboration with Motorola, has begun mobile Wi-Max trials in Kuala Lumpur, one of its four trial sites. This marks Motorola’s first mobile WiMax trial in Southeast Asia. The trial, which will enable Maxis to assess Wi-Max traffic channelling capabilities as well as evaluate the full mobility and performance of Motorola’s mobile Wi-Max solutions in the 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz frequency bands, is slated to be completed during the April to June 2007 quarter.
