Chairman and CEO of Orascom Teleholdings, Naguib Sawiris has bought Greece’s third largest mobile operator, Tim Hellas, in a deal worth $4.4 billion. Weather Investments, Sawiris’s investment vehicle, bought Tim Hellas from private equity firms Texas Pacific Group and Apax. Post the deal, Tim Hellas reportedly has an enterprise value of ??3.4 billion. In 2005, W eather Investments, which has full control over Orascom, bought Wind, Italy’s third largest mobile operator, in a deal worth 12.2 billion.
