Chinese vendor Huawei Technologies has signed a $100 million GSM network expansion contract with Bangladeshi mobile operator TM International (Bangladesh) (TMIB). Huawei will supply a wide range of GSM products as part of the expanded network, plus after-sales services and consulting services to TMIB on network operations. TMIB is 70 per cent owned by Telekom Malaysia International and 30 per cent by Bangladesh’s Khan Group. The brand name of the Bangladesh operation is AKTEL.
