Tata-owned long distance major VSNL plans to lay greater emphasis on broadband. Towards this end, it has lined up major investments for rolling out broadband services for the retail segment. It is currently looking at tying up with cable operators to overcome last mile connectivity problems. In fact, it has already entered into agreements with about 2,000 cable operators across the country to share their network, which will supplement the VSNL network wherever required.
