
Motorola has announced that it has moved to acquire struggling UK-based handset maker Sendo’s Singapore and UK-based research and development operation, its design and test kit as also the company’s intellectual property portfolio. Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed. Sendo’s core research and development team, comprising 200 engineers, will now be incorporated into the US vendor’s Mobile Devices unit. Motorola will also take charge of Sendo’s entire intellectual property portfolio, consisting of 50 existing and 40 pending patents.
