IBM India has appointed Vanitha Narayanan as managing director. She will succeed Shanker Annaswamy who will continue working as senior adviser to the corporation for its India enterprise segment. Prior to being appointed as managing director, Narayanan served as managing partner for the company’s global business services.

Narayanan will report to Jim Bramante, senior vice-president, IBM Growth Markets Unit.  In her new role, Narayanan will be responsible for IBM India’s sales, marketing, services and global delivery operations in the India and South Asia (ISA) region, including operations in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Narayanan has worked with IBM India for over 25 years and has been a part of the IBM ISA business since 2009, in the role of the leader of sales and distribution.

She has also served as vice president, communications sector, Asia Pacific, and the global vice president for IBM India’s telecom offerings.
