Targeting rural users, BSNL has introduced a mobile phone called BharatPhone priced at Rs 1,799. The mobile phone has a 3-inch screen and supports dual SIMs.

BSNL is bundled with 1200 minutes of free talk time for a year. Subscribers can use the mobile phone for accessing e-governance services like mobile banking and tele-medicine services.

In addition, the operator has also introduced a tablet and two smartphones priced between Rs 7,000 and Rs 8,000. The tablet packs in a 7-inch screen and functions on the Android-based operating system. Users buying the tablet will get free access to 3 GB of 3G data usage and 300 minutes of free talk time. The tablet is priced at Rs 6,999.
