According to a report by Ookla, India has secured a spot in the top 15 markets globally with the fastest reported 5G download speeds on the back of large-scale and swift deployments of 5G mobile networks by Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.
According to Ookla’s analysis of quarter 4 (Q4) 2023 data, India ranked 14th globally in 5G median download speeds with 301.86 Mbps and median upload speeds of 18.93 Mbps.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries of United Arab Emirates and Qatar were the fastest 5G markets globally during the period, with speeds of 654.59 Mbps and 516.79 Mbps, respectively. South Korea was the fastest Asia Pacific country, coming in third overall with a speed of 485.25 Mbps.
