A survey conducted by Accenture showed that around 82 per cent of senior executives at communication service providers (CSP) expect an increase in their network spending by 6-10 per cent in the next three years, along with tangible results from these investments. More than three-quarters or 77 per cent of the executives believe that their network transformation will greatly impact their revenue and margin performance.
As per the study, only 13 per cent of those surveyed are accelerating investments in next-generation networks. They expect an increase of 1.5 times their revenue and 1.8 times their gross margin over their competitors in the next three years. Almost all the CSPs in the survey see cloud transformation as an important goal in order to achieve a cost-efficient, flexible network. At the same time, 83 per cent believe network cloudification will transform their businesses.
Further, in terms of enabling and innovating from cloud-based solutions, 6.5 per cent of the respondents believed that their companies have the right skills and internal culture to manage these advanced networks. This study covered 200 global CSP senior technology, business and financial and offering, customer experience executives in over 18 countries including India.
