As per industry sources, 4,589 BSNL employees in Kerala have opted for the voluntary retirement scheme (VRS). January 31, 2020 was their last day.

Following this, BSNL is now left with 4,711 employees who will take care of the operations in the state.

Pan India, around 78,569 employees have opted for the VRS and served January 31, 2020 as their last day. Consequently, BSNL is now left with around 70,000 employees.

As per BSNL, the shrinkage in its employee strength is not going to affect the daily operations and there will be no issues for the customers as well.
