3 Ireland appoints Samsung to deploy its LTE network

3 Ireland has partnered with Samsung to roll-out its long term evolution (LTE) network in Ireland.

As part of the deal, Samsung will provide the operator with LTE radio access Network (RAN) and LTE core infrastructure equipment. Samsung will deploy LTE base stations, including all associated systems and network support services, across 3 Ireland’s network. The operator is likely to launch LTE services in Dublin in August 2013.
