ZTEsoft, the software and IT arm of the Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer ZTE Corporation, has stated that it is in discussions with the Indian telecom operators and local system integrators for government’s Digital India programme. Currently, ZTE is in discussions with Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications and Aircel.

The company intends to offer localised services related to security, transportation, healthcare, education and finance through its partnerships with telecom operators and local system integrators. ZTEsoft has stated that it is offering a ‘Smart Card’ solution, which is an integrated citizen card for multiple services in the domain of transportation and finance as well as in medical security.

Earlier, the company had offered to invest Rs 5 billion in the next five years for the government?s Smart City project that includes setting up of a Centre of Excellence for Rs 400 million.
