ZTE is planning to double its revenue in the Indian market from $400 million at the end of October 2013 to $800 million in the corresponding period in 2014. The company expects its handset business to contribute to the majority of the projected revenue.

To strengthen its position in the handset market, ZTE partnered with Pune-based Company, Calyx in May 2013 for sales and marketing of its mobile phones. Since, then the telecom equipment manufacturer has launched several handsets in the market. Going forward, the company plans to invest $10 million in marketing and branding-led initiatives in India.

Further, ZTE plans to increase its distribution network by setting up more retail stores and it will continue to invest aggressively in its terminals business.
