ZTE has deployed multi-service access nodes at over 400 sites as a part of its contract with Malaysian fixed line incumbent Telekom Malaysia (TM). Under TM’s high speed broadband (HSBB) project, ZTE is providing the company its MSG5200 equipment, which gives integrated access narrowband and broadband services to accommodate the distinct service access requirements of different users. In August 2008, the Malaysian government awarded TM the contract for the HSBB project to connect 2.2 million homes to a newly constructed fibre optic network by 2012, using fibre-tothe-home and fibre-to-the-curb technologies. Commercial services on this new network were inaugurated in March 2010.
