ZTE Corporation has launched its flagship device, the Grand X, in association with Swiss operator, Swisscom. Swisscom has branded the handset My Surf pure and is distributing the mid-range Android device in Switzerland.
The handset operates on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform and houses a dual core processor, a 5 megapixel camera and a QHD screen. It also has 4 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 36 GB with an external micro SD card. The handset is currently available from retailers at a net price of 299 Swiss Francs.
Swisscom is offering the handset with a range of 12 month and 24 month post-paid packages, which include unlimited data transmission, unlimited calls to all Swiss networks and unlimited domestic SMS and MMS services.
Commenting on the launch, He Shiyou, executive vice president and head, terminals division, ZTE said, ?With the Grand X (My Surf pure), we are expanding our range of smart phones to deliver mid to high-range capabilities in a high quality device. Switzerland is one of several European countries to receive our new device and we hope to continue to further this reach globally.?
