ZTE Corporation has announced that it has completed the industry?s first CDMA2000 1x advanced IOT testing in partnership with Qualcomm Incorporated, which further advances the commercial availability of CDMA2000 1X advanced technology. When fully implemented, a CDMA2000 1x advanced network will quadruple voice capacity while ensuring high definition) voice quality, among other benefits to both users and operators.

The successful tests demonstrate that ZTE?s CDMA2000 1x advanced equipment is fully compliant with industry standards and requirements. This follows ZTE?s earlier breakthrough in carrying out the world?s first successfully CDMA2000 1x advanced call in November 2010.

A series of comprehensive tests were performed to measure voice, data and SMS compatibility between the terminals of existing networks with a 1X Advanced network and terminals. In terms of new 1X Advanced features, the testing covered Enhanced Variable Rate Codec – Narrowband-Wideband and wireless link advanced verification. In addition, soft handover, hard handover and network co-existence were also tested.

In addition, CDMA2000 1x advanced technology incorporates a range of technologies such as interference cancellation, mobile receive diversity and radio link enhancements.

To fully protect existing investments into CDMA2000 1X advance technology, network operators need only to replace their existing 1X channel cards. This design was made to maximise network revenue and minimise upgrading costs.
