
The Kuwait-based service provider, Zain Group has reported revenues of $1.06 billion for the first quarter of 2013.
For the period under consideration, the operator?s net income stood at $184 million. Zain Group has made huge investments in rolling out and expanding its 3G and 4G network in 2012. As a result of the service expansion, the operators? revenue from data services has registered an increase of 14 per cent in the first quarter of 2013.
Following the launch of 4G, the operator has registered an increase of 9 per cent and 30 per cent in its subscriber base in Kuwait and Bahrain, respectively in the first quarter of 2013. Further, with the launch of 4G in Saudi Arabia, the operator has managed to register a growth of 32 per cent and 17 per cent in its subscriber base and revenues, respectively for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013.
