Yahoo! has appointed Marissa Mayer as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Prior to joining Yahoo, she was with Google, where she was responsible for products such as Google Maps, Google Earth, Zagat, Street View, and local search engines for the desktop and mobile.
At Yahoo!, Mayer is going to take over from Ross Levinsohn, the interim CEO.
Her appointment at Yahoo! is effective from July 17, 2012. In her new role, Mayer will focus on product innovation to drive user experience and advertising revenue for Yahoo!
