
China-based handset manufacturer Xiaomi has unveiled its first handset, Mi 3, for the Indian smartphone market.
Mi 3, priced at Rs 14,999 will be available for pre-booking in India from July 15 onwards.
Powered by company?s customised Android user interface (UI), MIUI V5, the Mi 3 has a 5-inch full HD 1080p LCD touch display and is powered by Qualcomm?s Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz processor, Adreno 330 450 MHz GPU, 2 GB RAM, and eMMC 4.5 flash memory of 16 GB.
The smartphone has a 13 megapixels rear camera and a 2 MP front camera with both supporting HD video recording and has a 3050mAh lithium-ion battery.
Xiaomi had launched its official Web site in India in June 2014 and is expected to bring the Mi 3 in partnership with Flipkart, who will sell the handset through its platform. During the same month, Xiaomi had also apppointed Jabong co-founder Manu Kumar Jain to head its operations in India.
