Handset manufactures, Xiaomi, Lenovo-Motorola and Lava have temporarily shut down their handset factories in various parts of India after state governments ordered lockdowns to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Xiaomi’s four factories in Tamil Nadu and Noida are expected to halt production beginning March 24, 2020. The company in total has eight plants for smartphones, smart TV and powerbanks, operated by contract manufacturer partners.

Meanwhile, Lava has shut its manufacturing facility in Noida, which has a manufacturing capacity of three million units per month while two million units are exported every year.
