China-based equipment manufacturer Huawei has appointed William Zhao as COO, Huawei Technologies India, the company’s research and development (R&D) centre. Zhao succeeds Wilson Wang, who has taken up a leadership role in Huawei’s digital services development management at Huawei, China, after serving as COO at the Indian R&D centre for four years. In his new role, Zhao will be responsible for the expansion of the centre’s operations and strengthening the company’s product portfolio, transforming the software and service domain, and enhancing smartphone product ownership. Zhao had joined Huawei in 1997 and has since then held several senior positions across different divisions and managed over 100 projects.
