Bharti Airtel has introduced new plans with unlimited 5G data, and Amazon Pri­me and Disney+ Hotstar subscriptions. It has also introduced a new Xstream fibre broadband lite plan at Rs 219, which is now available in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. This pack features un­limited data at 10 Mbps and comes with a free router. This pack can only be availed of as an annual plan, priced at Rs 3,101. Other plans from the provider offer 1 Gbps of speed along with subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime and more.

Airtel has also announced two new standby broadband plans with unlimited data, starting at Rs 199. These will come with additional benefits such as free live TV and over-the-top (OTT) platform subscriptions. This plan, which was priced at Rs 499 previously, now comes with free calling and a free Wi-Fi router. It can only be availed of as a five-month plan priced at Rs 1,674, along with Rs 500 as a one-time installation charge. There is a Rs 399 variant of this plan as well, which offers the same benefits along with an Xstream box and over 350 TV channels. This plan is also only available for a five-month period at Rs 3,000 plus Rs 500 as a one-time installation charge, and taxes.

Jio

JioCinema has partnered with Viacom18 for a content deal. Viacom18 has signed a multi-million-dollar content deal with Warner Bros Discovery, which will make JioCinema the default destination for HBO Max originals and all Warner Bros content in India. Viacom18 will reportedly pay over $20 million in annual fees to Warner Bros Discovery for the deal. It is reportedly also in talks with other international studios to scale up the content offered by JioCinema.

Vi

Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has launched two new prepaid plans priced at Rs 368 and Rs 369. These plans are set to offer unlimited calls, 100 SMSs per day and in­creased internet data. The Rs 368 prepaid plan offers a total of 60 GB of data for 30 days, with 2 GB of data per day. Users will also have access to the SunNxt app, the Binge All Night offer, the weekend data rollover facility, and a Vi Movies and TV subscription, with 2 GB data backup. On claiming the Binge All Night offer, a customer will get unlimited data at a regular speed between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. The plan priced at Rs 369 offers the same benefits, along with access to the SonyLiv app.

Moreover, Vi has launched a long-term prepaid plan for its customers, priced at Rs 549. It is not the same as Vi’s regular un­limited benefit plan. Instead, the new plan aims to offer a longer period of validity ov­er benefits such as data and calling. It co­mes with a validity period of 180 days and offers 1 GB of total data and Rs 549 of talktime. Customers have to pay 2.5 paise per second for both local and STD calls. The plan does not offer any SMS benefits ei­ther, which means the user has to pay for messages sent. The plan can be activated through the validity section of Vi’s website.

Vi is also offering several post-paid pla­ns priced between Rs 401 and Rs 1,101. The plans offer a validity period of 30 days and subscriptions to different OTT streaming applications, along with unlimited calling and 100 free SMSs per day. The Vi Max 401 plan, priced at Rs 401, offers 50 GB of total data and a 200 GB data rollover facility. It also includes subscriptions to Sony­LIV, Vi’s own OTT app, and Zee5. The Vi Max 501 plan is priced at Rs 501 and offers 90 GB of total data with a 200 GB data rollover facility. It offers access to Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar and Zee5. The Vi Max 701 plan, meanwhile, is priced at Rs 701 gives unlimited data and offers subscriptions to Amazon Prime, Zee5 and Dis­ney+ Hotstar Premium. Finally, the high-end Vi Max 1101 RedX plan offers special ISD tariff benefits in 14 countries, a seven-day international roaming pack for free once a year, and other benefits such as airport lounge access and MakeMyTrip vou­chers. This plan also provides unlimited data and gives access to Amazon Prime, Di­s­ney+ Hotstar Premium, SonyLiv Pre­mi­um and Zee5. The company aims to str­engthen its post-paid portfolio with Vi Max, and attract post-paid users to generate high average revenue per user.
