Jio

Reliance Jio has rolled out its True 5G service in more than 200 cities across India. The operator expects to cover the entire country with its 5G network by the end of 2023. Jio has launched two new 2.5 GB per day plans to support its existing plans for prepaid customers. These plans are priced at Rs 349 and Rs 899. Both the plans are available on the MyJio app, the company’s website and other major platforms. The newly launched plans offer a validity of up to 90 days, unlimited calls and 2.5 GB of daily data, among other benefits. The Rs 349 plan offers 2.5 GB of daily data and unlimited voice calls for a validity of 30 days. This translates into a total data benefit of 75 GB for the validity period. In addition, the plan offers 100 SMSs per day. Meanwhile, the Rs 899 prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calling benefits, 2.5 GB of data per day and 100 SMSs per day for a validity period of 90 days. The total data benefit is thus 225 GB. Both plans provide users access to Jio’s complimentary applications such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioCloud and JioSecurity. The operator is offering 5G data with both packs as part of the Welcome Offer.

These packs are being offered in addition to the recently launched Happy New Year plan, priced at Rs 2,023. This plan provides similar benefits but has a validity period of 252 days. As part of the New Year offer, Jio is also providing complimentary Prime membership to new subscribers. Furthermore, Jio has announced additional benefits for its existing Rs 2,999 plan, which includes an extra 75 GB of high-speed data and an additional validity of 23 days.

Besides, Airtel has scrapped its metered tariff and introduced a new monthly minimum recharge plan for Rs 155. In November 2022, the telco raised the price of the minimum monthly recharge plan in two circles – Haryana and Odisha. Recently, the Rs 99 plan was discontinued in seven more circles and replaced with a Rs 155 plan. The new plan has a validity of 28 days and offers 1 GB of data along with unlimited voice calling and 300 SMSs.

Further, Airtel has added two new prepaid plans, of Rs 489 and Rs 509. The plans offer monthly bulk data for users, especially for customers who are now experiencing 5G network connectivity. The Rs 489 plan offers unlimited calls, 300 SMSs, and 50 GB of bulk data with a validity of 30 days. Additional benefits under the pack include free access to Wynk Music, Hello Tunes, Apollo 24×7 and cashback on FASTag. The Rs 509 plan has been introduced as a monthly validity plan, which means users will get validity for the entire month, regardless of whether the month has 28, 30 or 31 days. The plan offers unlimited calls, 300 SMSs, and 60 GB of bulk data.
