Airtel
Bharti Airtel has launched Airtel Xstream AirFiber, a 5G fixed wireless access device, for its consumers in Delhi and Mumbai. It is a plug-and-play device with built-in Wi-Fi 6 technology, providing wide indoor coverage and the ability to simultaneously connect up to 64 devices. The service is available starting at Rs 799 per month, with speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps. The plan has a validity of six months, and there is a one-time refundable security deposit of Rs 2,500. Customers can sign up for the service by visiting select Airtel stores in Delhi and Mumbai, or by applying online. All devices manufactured under the Xstream AirFiber services will fall under the Make in India programme.
Airtel has also launched a new unlimited data pack priced at Rs 99, offering users unlimited data access for one day. The pack is a part of Airtel’s data monetisation strategy aimed at increasing the ARPU. It is designed for users who need a quick data top-up for a day, whether for streaming videos or downloading large files.
Further, Airtel Wynk Music has partnered with Dolby Laboratories, Inc. to launch Dolby Atmos, an immersive audio technology, for its users at no additional cost. Wynk’s Dolby Atmos catalogue and playlist will include music from eight different languages – Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali. The Dolby Atmos catalogue and playlist will also feature songs from renowned music labels such as Yash Raj Films, Saregama India Limited and Phonographic Digital Limited. This new technology is compatible with both Android and iOS Dolby Atmos-enabled devices. Further, Airtel has launched Airtel IQ Reach, a first-of-its-kind self-service marketing communications platform that allows businesses to engage with their customers in a more targeted and personalised manner. This platform will be a one-stop shop for businesses, especially emerging ones, to maintain complete control over their campaigns. Users can simply log in to a single portal to create customised messages, upload or select their target audiences, schedule their messages and track the effectiveness of their campaigns.
Jio
Reliance Jio has announced several new benefits under its annual prepaid plan, priced at Rs 2,999. The plan, which already offered unlimited voice calls and 2.5 GB of data per day for a year, now comes with additional benefits such as:
- A Rs 100 discount on purchases of Rs 249 on Swiggy.
- Rs 1,500 off on flights booked on Yatra.com.
- A 15 per cent discount on domestic hotels, up to Rs 4,000.
- A flat Rs 200 off on orders of Rs 999 from Ajio (on select products only).
- A 20 per cent discount on an order of Rs 99 on Netmeds (NMS), along with NMS Supercash.
Further, Jio users shopping at Reliance Digital will receive a 10 per cent discount on select audio accessories and an additional flat 10 per cent off on select domestic appliances. Additionally, Jio has announced prepaid plans with a bundled Netflix subscription and unlimited 5G data, offering its 400 million prepaid customers the option to avail of a Netflix subscription. The new prepaid plans announced by Jio are priced at Rs 1,099 and Rs 1,499 – both valid for 84 days. The packs offer unlimited 5G data and a daily limit of 2 GB on 4G mobile data, along with unlimited voice calling. However, the Rs 1,099 bundle offers a Netflix mobile plan, which is valid for streaming only on mobile devices, while the Rs 1,499 plan provides a basic Netflix subscription for larger screens.
Vi
Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) announced a range of offers for its prepaid customers, valid from August 12-18, 2023.
All Vi prepaid users could avail of an extra benefit of up to 50 GB on all unlimited data recharges above Rs 199. They were also eligible for instant discounts of Rs 50 and Rs 75 on Rs 1,449 and Rs 3,099 recharge packs, respectively.
Vi has also launched a “Spin the Wheel” contest exclusively for its app. The winner of the contest will receive a complimentary recharge pack worth Rs 3099, valid for a year. Other rewards include 1 GB or 2 GB of additional data, and a subscription to SonyLIV.
