Jio

Reliance Jio has rolled out two new data booster plans priced at Rs 19 and Rs 29, bringing the total number of data booster plans to seven. The Rs 19 plan will provide users with 1.5 GB of high speed data, while the Rs 29 plan will offer 2.5 GB of high speed data. The validity period for both these plans will be the same as the user’s cu­rrent plan. Since these plans are purely data-focused, they will not offer SMS or ca­ll­ing facilities. Furthermore, Jio has laun­ched its new JioBharat phone, priced at Rs 999. To increase sales, the phone comes with 4G internet-enabled connectivity and offers data plans starting at Rs 123.

Airtel

Bharti Airtel has launched a new Airtel Black plan priced at Rs 1,099, targeted at users who want additional over-the-top (OTT) benefits. The plan includes a direct-to-home connection worth Rs 350 and unlimited voice calling. The plan also offers an Airtel Xstream fibre connection with unlimited internet at a speed of up to 200 Mbps. The plan comes with subscriptions to Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar, as well as access to the Airtel Xstream app, which has content from over 12 OTT apps such as SonyLiv, Lionsgate Play, Eros Now and Ultra.

Further, Airtel has launched a new data pack priced at Rs 148, which includes a free subscription to Xstream Play. The pack pro­vides 15 GB of data and comes as an add-on data voucher on top of the custo­mer’s existing recharge plan. However, this plan does not offer any talktime or SMS benefits. Users will instead get access to 15 OTT streaming platforms including Sony­Liv Premium and Hoichoi, for 28 days.

Vi

Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has launched two prepaid plans for light usage in activities such as college projects, online assignments and online video game streaming, to increase subscriber retention and data usage. The new Vi prepaid “Super Hour” and “Super Day” data packs are priced at Rs 24 and Rs 49 respectively, with validity periods of one hour and 24 hours respectively. The Super Hour pack offers unlimited data, while the Super Day pack provides a total of 6 GB of data. However, these packs do not offer any calling and SMS services, or other additional benefits. These plans are primarily designed for young adults with heavy data requirements, allowing such users to play Vi Games, watch the latest movies and videos on Vi Movies, and listen to music on Vi Music, on the Vi app. Additionally, the telco has launched the “Vi Smartphone Program”, under which it will offer a recharge discount of Rs 2,400. Users can avail of a monthly discount of Rs 100 for 24 months through the Vi App on Vi Hero recharges of Rs 299 and above. The offer is applicable to all users who upgrade to 4G/5G smartphones. Non-Vi users on 4G/5G smartphones will be eligible upon purchasing a Vi SIM.

Further, Vi has launched the “Vi One” bundled service, which allows customers to access fibre and prepaid mobile plans, along with their OTT subscriptions, all under a single plan. The Vi One service offers four different plans, with the base plan priced at Rs 2,192. The Rs 2,912 plan includes a prepaid SIM that offers 2 GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSs per day, along with the usual Vi benefits such as the “Binge All Night” feature. The bundled fibre service in the plan will provide speeds of up to 40 Mbps and un­limited data. Moreover, the pack includes OTT benefits such as 90-day subscriptio­ns to Disney+ Hotstar Mobile, SonyLIV Mobile, Vi Movies and ZEE5. The plan is valid for 93 days.

The second plan is priced at Rs 3,109. This plan also comes with a prepaid SIM and similar benefits as the previous one. However, the fibre service bundled with this plan provides speeds of up to 100 Mbps, along with unlimited data. The third plan is priced at Rs 8,390 and offers similar benefits as the Rs 2,192 plan, with the only difference being its extended validity of 368 days. Finally, the Rs 12,155 plan includes a prepaid SIM with unlimited voice calls, 2 GB of data per day and 100 SMSs per day, similar to the previous packs. The fibre ser­vice offers high speed internet with speeds up to 100 Mbps, unlimited data and various OTT benefits. Users get a one-year subscription to Disney+ Hotstar Mobile; 365 days of SonyLIV Mobile, Vi Movies and TV VIP; and 365 days of ZEE5. This plan has a validity period of 368 days.
