Jio
Reliance Jio is offering its customers JioFi, a device that provides speeds of up to 150 Mbps and 4G connectivity. It will allow connectivity on 10 devices at a time for five to six hours. It also offers high definition voice calling and conferencing services on devices. JioFi can be obtained free of cost on a use-and-return basis.
Jio has added a number of budget-friendly recharge plans. It has introduced a new recharge plan worth Rs 296, under which customers get access to 25 GB of data with a validity of 30 days, with no daily limit. Further, customers get unlimited voice calling and 100 SMSs per day. This plan allows customers to use the entire data in a single day or in a month as per their needs. The pack also comes with access to Jio TV, Jio Security, Jio Cinema and Jio Cloud.
Airtel
Bharti Airtel has expanded its Airtel Black plans with the addition of a new Rs 799 plan that includes three connections consisting of two post-paid connections and one DTH. Users get access to 105 GB of data, 200 GB of data rollover and unlimited calling with 100 SMSs per day. The DTH connection has channels worth Rs 260. Additionally, first-time customers get 30 days of free usage along with a free installation service.
Airtel has announced that it will be offering content from FanCode to its subscribers. FanCode has partnered with domestic and international sports leagues and associations across various sports. With this, Airtel Xtream will offer content from 19 over-the-top (OTT) platforms. Meanwhile, customers who opt for six- or twelve-month plans will get a discount of 7.5 per cent and 15 per cent respectively on the total price. This is applicable for all packs above Rs 499 per month. Furthermore, customers opting for the three-month plan will get free installation services. The same is applicable to the six- and twelve-month packs. Users who have an Airtel Xstream fibre connection can also get an Airtel Xstream 4K OTT set-top box on paying a refundable security of Rs 1,500. However, the deposit is only refundable if the consumer completes a minimum of 10 recharges of over Rs 360. Airtel has also reworked its international roaming plan, which now costs Rs 133 per day. Customers need to select their duration of travel, ranging from 1 to 90 days, or opt for an annual international roaming pack for non-resident Indians.
Vi
Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) is offering 5 GB additional data on recharges done through the Vi app. As part of its “Maha” recharge offer, the extra data will be provided at no cost for all packs above Rs 299. Meanwhile, all recharges of between Rs 199 and Rs 299 will come with 2 GB of extra data. The validity for the extra data will be three days. The company has also introduced seven new prepaid plans for consumers with the aim of increasing its 4G data customers. The first plan is priced at Rs 1,999, with a validity of 250 days. The consumer will get 1.5 GB data for daily usage as well as 100 SMSs per day and unlimited voice calling. The second plan, for Rs 198, comes with a validity of 30 days and offers Rs 198 worth of talktime, along with 500 MB of data. The Rs 204 plan is similar, the only difference being that it has talktime worth Rs 204. Meanwhile, the Rs 224 and Rs 232 plans come with a validity of 30 days and one month respectively. The former plan has unlimited voice calling and 4 GB of data but offers no SMS benefits.
Vi has also launched two new data vouchers, which are available nationwide. The Rs 17 plan has a validity of one day and lets customers use unlimited data between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. The Rs 57 plan comes with a validity of seven days and offers unlimited data between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. as well. Meanwhile, Vi has reduced the validity of its Rs 99 and Rs 128 prepaid plans to 15 and 18 days respectively. Earlier, the Rs 99 pack was valid for 28 days and offered 200 MB of data with talk time of Rs 99. This pack comes without any SMS. The Rs 128 prepaid plan earlier had a validity of 28 days and talktime worth Rs 128. Users have to pay 2.5 paise per second for calls under this plan.
