OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 6 smartphone in India. It features a 6.28 inch HD+ full Optic AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 2.8 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, coupled with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and an Adreno 630 graphics processing unit (GPU). The dual-SIM OnePlus 6 runs on the Oxygen operating system (OS) 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It is equipped with a 3,300 mAh battery with Dash Charge (5V 4A) fast charging technology developed by OnePlus. The smartphone is available in three variants of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. It has a 16 megapixel primary camera and a 20 megapixel secondary camera. The rear camera is supported by a dual-LED flash module. The smartphone is available at Rs 34,999.
Samsung has launched the Galaxy J6 smartphone. It features a 5.6 inch HD+ (720p) display and is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7870 octa-core processor. The smartphone has been launched in two variants – 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of internal storage and 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage. The expandable storage support is 256 GB. The smartphone has a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera with an LED flash. It is equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery and runs on the Android Oreo 8.0 OS. The handset has been priced at Rs 13,990 for the 3 GB RAM variant and at Rs 16,490 for the 4 GB RAM variant.
Samsung has also launched the Galaxy J8 smartphone in India. It features a 6 inch SAMOLED HD+ resolution display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The smartphone has 4 GB RAM and an inbuilt storage of 64 GB with 256 GB microSD card support. It has a dual-rear camera with 16+5 megapixel combination and a 16 megapixel front camera. The phone is equipped with a 3,500 mAh battery and runs on Android Oreo 8.0. Samsung J8 is available in the market at Rs 18,990.
LG has launched its G7 ThinQ smartphone. It features a 6.1 inch display and has a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440×3120 pixels with 19:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a 2.8 GHz Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 200 GB. Idea Cellular has announced two new add-on packs, which offer extra data upon the expiry of users’ allotted data packs. The first pack, priced at Rs 53, is valid only for a day while the second pack, priced at Rs 92, comes with seven days of validity. Both the packs offer 3 GB of data.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a new plan, Data Tsunami, for its prepaid users. The pack offers BSNL users 1.5 GB of daily data (or 39 GB per month) at Rs 98, with a validity of 26 days. This data-only plan comes bundled with unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits. However, the operator is yet to roll out 4G long term evolution services in the country and thus the users will be able to surf internet on 3G networks only.
Bharti Airtel has announced a strategic partnership with Amazon India to provide a cashback worth Rs 2,600 on select 4G smartphones available on the e-commerce platform. Under this partnership, the cashback will be available on over 65 4G smartphones, which are exclusively available on Amazon from popular device brands including Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Honor, LG, Lenovo and Motorola. The users will get a Rs 2,000 cashback from Airtel over a period of 36 months, while Amazon is offering a cashback of Rs 600 on Airtel recharge of Rs 169 via Amazon Pay. The recharge offers unlimited voice calls (STD and local) and 1 GB data per day for 28 days.
Reliance Jio has announced a new cashback offer on its Rs 399 plan. With this offer, prepaid users will get Rs 50 instant discount in the form of cashback vouchers on the MyJio App and another Rs 50 cashback if the payment is done via PhonePe on the MyJio application. Under the Rs 399 plan, users will get 1.5 GB of data per day with a validity of 84 days. They will get unlimited voice calls on local and STD networks along with free national roaming. The pack comes with free 100 SMSs per day limit.

The pack comes with a validity of 21 days and offers 100 free SMSs per day. However, the pack comes with a fair usage policy (FUP) limit of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. The calls must be made to only 100 unique numbers during the period.
Airtel has introduced a new prepaid plan of Rs 299, which comes with a validity of 45 days. The plan offers unlimited local/STD calls and roaming voice calls without an FUP limit. In addition, it offers 100 free SMSs per day. It, however, does not offer any data benefit.
Vodafone has announced a one-day unlimited calling pack worth Rs 9 in the Uttar Pradesh East circle. The pack offers unlimited calls anywhere in India, 100 free SMSs, and 100 MB mobile data per day till midnight. With this pack, the company is targeting more than 60,000 towns and villages in the circle.
