Reliance Jio has launched the JioPhone 2 feature phone in India. It features a 2.4 inch QVGA display and QWERTY keyboard. The handset comes with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal sto­rage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. The 4G-enabled feature phone is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery and runs on the KAI operating system (OS). The handset has a 2 megapixel rear camera sensor and a VGA front camera sensor. In terms of connectivity, the Jio­Phone 2 offers voice ov­er long term evolution (VoLTE), VoWiFi, NFC, GPS, Blue­tooth and FM radio features. The handset is priced at Rs 2,999.

LG Electronics India has launch­ed the G7+ThinQ smartphone in India. It features a 6.1 inch full HD+ in-plane switching (IPS) touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1440×1320 pixels. The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by a Qual­comm Snapdragon 845 chip­set processor and comes with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2,000 GB. It runs on the Android 8.0 OS and is supported by a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery. The handset has a 16+16 megapixel dual rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. It is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor, a compass/magnetometer, a proximity sensor, an accele­ro­meter, an ambient light sensor, a gyroscope and a face unlock feature. The smartphone is priced at Rs 39,900.

China-based Coolpad has launched the Mega 5A smartphone in India. It features a 5.47 inch full HD+  IPS touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 720×1440 pixels. The dual-SIM smartphone is supported by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. It runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo OS and is supported by a 2,500 mAh battery. The handset has an 8+0.3 megapixel dual rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The phone is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor and comes with a face unlock feature. The Mega 5A smartphone is priced at Rs 6,999.

Oppo has launched the Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro smartphones in India. The two smartphones feature a 6.3 inch full HD+IPS touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. Both the phones are powered by a 2 GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 64 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256 GB. While the Oppo F9 comes with 4 GB RAM, Oppo F9 Pro has 6 GB RAM. The dual SIM smartphones run on the Android 8.1 OS and are equipped with a 3,500 mAh non-removable lithium-polymer battery. The handsets have a 16+2 megapixel dual rear camera and a 25 megapixel front camera. The 4G-enabled smartphones come with a fingerprint sensor, a compass/magnetometer, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor and a gyroscope. The Oppo F9 smartphone is priced at Rs 19,990 and the Oppo F9 Pro at Rs 23,990.

Nokia has launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone in India. It features a 5.8 inch full HD+IPS touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. The smartphone is supported by a 1.8+1.6 GHz Kryo 260 quad-core processor and comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 400 GB via a microSD card. For better graphics, the phone has an Adreno 509 graphics processing unit. It runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo OS and is supported by a 3,060 mAh Li-ion battery. The handset has a 16+5 megapixel dual rear camera and a 16 megapixel front camera. The phone is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, a compass and a gyroscope. The Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone is priced at Rs 15,999.

M-tech Mobile has introduced its first flip phone, G Flip. The dual-SIM phone features a 1.8 inch QQVGA display and a mirror glass. It is equipped with a powerful 1,000 mAh battery. The flip phone also has a rear digital camera and offers multimedia features such as FM radio, and audio and video player with MP3/ MP4/WAV support. It comes with an expandable memory of up to 16 GB and connectivity features like Bluetooth, audio/ video recording, auto call record and torch- light. The phone is priced at Rs 1,049.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone in India. It features a 6.4 inch quad HD+Super AMOLED infinity display panel with a screen resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. The smartphone is powered by an Exynos 9810 SoC (system on a chip) octa-core processor. The phone has two variants. While one comes with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 67,900, the other has 8 GB RAM and 512 GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 84,900. Both the variants have the capacity to support 1 TB of storage. The 4G VoLTE-enabled smartphone runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo OS and is supported by a 4,000 mAh battery. The handset has a 12+12 megapixel dual rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer, a barometer, a gyroscope, and geomagnetic, hall, and heart rate, proximity, light, Iris and pressure sensors.

Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones in India. While Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A feature a 5.45 inch full HD+IPS touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1440×720 pixels, the Redmi 6 Pro features a 5.84 inch full HD+ IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. The Redmi 6 smartphone is supported by an octa-core 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 processor. The phone comes in two variants, one with 3 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage and the other with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The Redmi 6A smartphone is supported by an octa-core 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 processor. The phone comes in two variants, one with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage and the other with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The Redmi 6 Pro smartphone is supported by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The phone comes in two variants of 3 GB RAM with 32 GB of internal storage, and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. All three phones run on the Android 8.1 OS. The Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A are powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Redmi 6 Pro is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. The Red­mi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro come with a 12+5 megapixel dual rear camera and a 5 mega­pixel front camera. The Redmi 6A has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 mega­pixel front camera. All three phones and their variants are priced differently. For Red­­mi 6, the 3 GB+32 GB variant is priced at Rs 7,999 and the 3 GB+64 GB variant at Rs 9,499. For Redmi 6A, the 2 GB+16 GB va­riant is priced at Rs 5,999 and the 2 GB+32 GB variant at Rs 6,999. For Redmi 6 Pro, the 3 GB+32 GB variant is priced at Rs 10,999 and the 4 GB+64 GB at Rs 12,499.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched four new data plans for its broadband users priced at Rs 99, Rs 199, Rs 229 and Rs 399. All four plans offer internet speed of 20 Mbps till the Fair Usage Policy limit. Once the limit is crossed, the plans will provide a speed of 1 Mbps. Under the Rs 99 plan, the user will get 45 GB of data in a month with a daily limit of 1.5 GB. The Rs 199 plan offers 150 GB data in a month with a daily limit of 5 GB. The Rs 299 plan provides 300 GB data in a month with a daily limit of 10 GB. Lastly, the Rs 399 plan offers 600 GB data in a month with a daily limit of 20 GB. The amount of data used resets at 12 midnight every day.

BSNL has also launched a new prepaid plan called the BSNL Jeevitha Prepaid Plan at Rs 75 in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles. The plan offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, 10 GB data and 500 SMSs. It comes with a validity of 15 days, which can be extended up to 180 days by recharging with special tariff vouchers (STVs). STV plans ranging from Rs 98 to Rs 199 will get the user an extended validity of 90 days while STV plans above Rs 200 will provide an extended validity of 180 days.

Bharti Airtel has launched a new range of convenient combo prepaid recharge plans. Customers can now get data, talktime, tariff and validity together in the same pack at affordable price points. The plan offers data and talktime benefits along with multiple validity options at recharge denominations of Rs 35, Rs 65 and Rs 95, to serve a wide range of custo­mer requirements. This new combo pack range will complement Airtel’s un­limited bundled recharge packs that offer unlimited calling, free national roaming, SMSs and huge data benefits.

Bharti Airtel has launched international roaming voice packs called “Foreign Pass” for its prepaid customers in India. Under this pass, the operator is offering three packs priced at Rs 196 (for 20 minutes), Rs 296 (40 minutes) and Rs 446 (75 minutes). The pass is available for 20 countries including the US, the UK, Canada, the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar. Users can activate the pack through the My Airtel app or the Airtel website. The packs will allow Airtel users to make and receive free local calls and make calls to India.

Vodafone has launched a new long-term validity prepaid plan for Rs 597. The new plan comes with a different validity period for smartphone users and feature phone users. While the plan is valid for 112 days for smartphone users, it is valid for 168 days for feature phone users. Under the new plan, users will get unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 10 GB of 4G/3G data and 100 SMSs per day. However, there is a cap of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week on voice calls. Also, the users of this plan can make calls to only 100 unique numbers during the entire validity period.

Vodafone has launched a new prepaid plan for Rs 159 for its customers. The new plan comes with a validity of 28 days and has been introduced in all the circles. Under this plan, users will get 1 GB data per day or 28 GB data for the entire validity period. Also, the plan offers unlimited voice calling with a cap of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. The plan also provides 100 SMSs per day. However, Vodafone users in certain circles will get 100 SMSs for the entire validity period.
