Idea Cellular has launched a Rs 109 pre-paid plan that offers free voice calls, 100 SMSs per day and 1 GB of 3G/4G data with a validity of 14 days. The free voice calls are restricted to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week, beyond which they will be charged at Re 0.01 per second. The plan is currently available in a few circles including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat and Haryana.
Airtel has updated its prepaid plan priced at Rs 98 to provide customers with 5 GB of 3G/4G data with a validity of 28 days. The plan is currently available only in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle and does not come bundled with free calls or SMSs. Further, in some circles, Airtel is offering free calls and 1 GB of data per day for 28 days at Rs 93. However, in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the validity of this plan is 10 days.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced the new “Maximum” prepaid plan. Under this plan, BSNL prepaid customers will get unlimited data access for 365 days and free local and STD calls for 181 days at Rs 999. The new plan is available in all circles except the Northeast, Jammu & Kashmir and Assam. The operator is offering unlimited data with a 1 GB limit per day. Following the limit exhaustion, users will get internet data at 40 kbps speeds. In addition, all local, STD and roaming calls are free, excluding the Delhi and Mumbai circles, where voice calls will be priced at Re 0.60 per minute. However, the tariff will change after 181 days of subscription, and all online and offline calls including roaming will be charged at Re 0.60 per minute. Moreover, in the first 181 days, BSNL prepaid subscribers will be able to avail of 100 free SMSs per day. However, after the period ends, users will be charged Re 0.25 per local SMS and Re 0.35 per national SMS.

Idea Cellular has partnered with Panasonic to offer a cashback of Rs 1,500 on its 4G smartphone Panasonic P100. This would reduce the effective price of the device by 25 per cent to stand at Rs 3,799 and Rs 4,499 for different variants. Idea customers will get a cashback of Rs 300 after the first 12 months of use and Rs 1,200 after the next 12 months. To avail of the offer, Idea customers will have to do a cumulative recharge of Rs 2,500 during the first 12 months and the same amount during the next 12-month period. To this end, they will have to recharge at a minimum of Rs 199 each month. The recharge of Rs 199 is inclusive of free calls across all networks, 28 GB data with fair usage policy (FUP) of 1 GB per day, 100 SMSs per day, free outgoing and incoming roaming calls with a validity of 28 days.
BSNL has launched a new post-paid plan priced at Rs 399, which provides unlimited calls and 30 GB of bundled data with no daily caps for its new as well as existing customers. Under the plan, subscribers will not be billed for STD and local calls. In addition, roaming calls made outside the home circle will be free. Meanwhile, BSNL recently updated its tariffs to offer unlimited calls and bundled data to its prepaid customers at Rs 99 for 26 days and Rs 319 for 84 days. The operator also launched a Rs 448 recharge plan with 1 GB data per day and unlimited calls for 84 days for its prepaid subscribers.
Bharti Airtel has launched a prepaid plan priced at Rs 995 that offers unlimited voice calls. The plan provides 1 GB of 3G/4G data every month and 100 text messages per day. It is a half-yearly plan with a validity of 180 days. Further, the plan does not have any daily and weekly FUP limit on calling minutes. The plan offers 6 GB of free data and after exhausting the FUP limit, users will be charged Re 0.04 per 10 kbps. Besides, users will have to pay Re 1 per SMS on local networks and Rs 1.50 per SMS on national networks once the limit of 100 SMSs daily is exhausted. The plan can be purchased from Airtel’s website and My Airtel mobile app in certain circles.
Vodafone India has introduced a new prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 299 with a validity of 56 days. The plan comes with unlimited local, national, and outgoing roaming calls and 100 SMSs per day, in addition to 1 GB daily data. Further, the unlimited calls are capped at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. However, the 1 GB daily data facility is available only for customers using 2G network in the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh circle. Vodafone is expected to extend this plan to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle where it has poor 4G connectivity.
