Gionee has launched the Marathon M5 Plus smart­­­phone in India. It has a 6 inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1,080×1,920 pixels and runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system (OS). The device is powered by a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor and has 3 GB RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card. The smartphone has a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front camera. It is equipped with a 5020 mAh battery and offers connectivity options such as 4G long term ­evolution (LTE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The phone is priced at Rs 26,999.

China-based Vivo has laun­ched its V3 and V3 Max smartphones in Kerala. Both the smartphones run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Funtouch OS, have a metal unibody design and come with a fingerprint sensor. Vivo V3 has a 5 inch display, is powered by a Snapdragon 616 processor and has 3 GB RAM. It comes with 32 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128 GB. The phone has a 13 megapixel phase detection autofocus (PDAF) rear camera with dual-LED flash and an 8 megapixel front camera. The 4G-enabled smartphone is powered by a 2550 mAh battery and provides connectivity options like LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. The Vivo V3 is priced at Rs 17,980. Mean­while, the Vivo V3 Max is a premium smartphone and comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, has 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 12 GB. The phone comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and an 8 megapixel front camera. It is packed with a 3000 mAh battery and is priced at Rs 23,980.

Reach Mobile has launched the Allure+ smartphone in India. The 4G device is based on the Android 5.1 OS and has dual-SIM support. It features a 5.5 inch QHD in-plane switching (IPS) screen and is powered by a quad-core processor.  The phone comes with a 10 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. It supports features such as touch focus, panaroma, image stabilisation and high dynamic range (HDR). The smartphone is priced at Rs 5,444.

Docoss Multimedia has laun­ched the X1 smartphone in India. It features a 4 inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 800×480 pixels. The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, has 1 GB RAM and runs on the Android 4.4 OS. It comes with 4 GB of internal storage, which is expandable. The device has a 2 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. The dual-SIM smartphone is equipped with a 1300 mAh battery and is available for Rs 888.

Chinese smartphone maker LeEco has launched the Le 1s Eco smartphone in India. It features a 5.5 inch screen with full HD display. The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor with PowerVR graphics. It comes with 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage and is packed with a 3000 mAh battery. The handset comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The smartphone also has a rear fingerprint scanner. It is priced at Rs 10,899.

 

Intex has launched the Aqua Joy smartphone in India. It features a 4 inch WVGA display with a screen resolution of 480×800 pixels and runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Spredtrum processor and comes with 512 MB RAM. It has 4 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB. The device has VGA front and rear cameras and is equipped with a 1450 mAh battery. It offers connectivity options such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, and is available for Rs 2,799.

Chinese handset vendor Meizu has launched the m3 Note smartphone in India. The dual-micro-SIM device runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Flyme OS. It runs on the octa-core MediaTek Helios P10 processor. The smartphone features a 5.5 inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1,080×1,920 pixels. It has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, which is expandable. The m3 Note is equipped with a 4100 mAh battery, has a full metal body and comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera, as well as a 5 megapixel front camera. The smartphone offers connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with Bluetooth low energy (BLE), and GPS/A-GPS. The device is priced at Rs 9,999 and is available exclusively on Amazon in grey, gold and silver colour variants.

Micromax has launch­ed the Bolt Selfie smartphone in India. The dual-SIM phone features a 4.5 inch FWVGA (full wide video graphics array) IPS display with a screen resolution of 480×854 pixels. It runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is packed with a 1,750 mAh removable battery that can offer up to 18 hours of talktime and up to 260 hours of standby time. The device comes with a 5 megapixel front camera and a 5 megapixel rear camera with flash. It is powered by a 1 GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6735) processor and has 1 GB RAM. The handset comes with an internal storage of 8 GB, which is expandable up to 32 GB. It offers connectivity options such as 4G, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB, and GPS, and is available for Rs 4,999.

Motorola has laun­­ch­ed two new smartphones in India, the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. The Moto G4 Plus is a dual-SIM phone, which features a 5.5 inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1,080×1,920 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and has an Adreno 405 GPU. It is packed with a 3,000 mAh battery, and comes with a 16 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and laser autofocus, and dual-LED colour-balancing flash, as well as a 5 megapixel front camera. The smartphone offers connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and GPS/ A-GPS. The Moto G4 Plus will be available exclusively on Amazon in black and white colour variants, and is priced at Rs 13,499 and Rs 14,999 for the 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants respectively. However, the price and other details of the Moto G4 have not been announced yet.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited has expanded its LYF range of smartphones with the launch of two new handsets – Flame 2 and Wind 4. The Lyf Flame 2 features a 4 inch WVGA display with a screen resolution of 480×800 pixels. It runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, is powered by a 1 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and is packed with a 1500 mAh battery. The device has 3 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB. It comes with a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. The smartphone offers connectivity options such as 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Meanwhile, LYF Wind 4 has a 5 inch screen with HD display and a screen resolution of 720×1,280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Snap­dra­gon 210 processor, has 1 GB RAM and internal storage of 8 GB, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB. The phone runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. It has an 8 megapixel front camera with flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. It offers various connectivity options like 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Both the smartphones are VoLTE-enabled. While the LYF Flame 2 is priced at Rs 4,799, the LYF Wind 4 is available for Rs 6,799.

Coolpad has launched the Max smartphone in India. It features a 5.5 inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1,080×1,920 pixels. The device is powered by a 64 bit 1.5 GHz octa-core Snapdragon processor, has 4 GB RAM and runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage, which is expandable, and is equipped with a 2800 mAh battery. The device has a 13 megapixel rear camera with an isocell image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash, as well as a 5 megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture. The handset offers connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The Max smartphone is priced at Rs 24,999, and is available exclusively on Amazon in rose gold and royal gold colour variants.

Aircel has launched a special recharge pack that offers discounted voice tariff during night hours. The pack, which is priced at Rs 86, offers full talktime, and local and STD calling at 30 paise per minute from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. It has a validity of 12 days and offers discounted international calls. While call rates to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have been slashed to Rs 16 paise per second, those to Bangladesh have been reduced to 4 paise per second. The service has been launched to mark the month-long festival of Ramzan.

Tata DOCOMO has announced the first-of-its kind products in the Punjab region – First Recharge (FR) 128 and FR 131. These recharge packs will give customers an additional benefit of free accidental cover of Rs 300,000 along with talktime and data benefits. To avail of this offer, customers will have to select either FR 128 or FR 131. Both the packs provide customers with talktime of Rs 60, 500 MB of 3G data and a validity of two months. Under FR 128, users can make local calls at Re 0.35 per minute and STD calls at Re 0.30 per minute, whereas under FR 131, local calls on the Tata DOCOMO network can be made at Re 0.10 per minute and other local calls can be made at Re 0.30 per minute. In order to continue with the scheme, customers have to get a recharge of Rs 50 every month.

Vodafone India has launched its Vodafone “U” initiative, which aims to provide additional voice and data benefits to its prepaid subscribers. Under this scheme, prepaid users can avail of benefits such as data quota, special call rates and access to the Vodafone music library to download songs. The bundled offer is especially targeted at the youth and will be available through Vodafone U Pack A and Vodafone U Pack B. The operator has also introduced Super­Net national roaming packs for its customers in the Delhi National Capital Region. For prepaid users there are tariff plans starting at Rs 32, which offer free incoming calls and local outgoing calls at Re 0.80 per minute. Meanwhile, Vodafone post-paid subscribers can choose from plans ranging from Rs 35 to Rs 205 with different validity and talktime offers. Subscribers can also extend the validity of these packs.
